A Verse for Witches Blurb Reveal

Hey, folks. A Verse for Witches is book one of my epic fantasy series scheduled for release in 2025, and I just finished the blurb--the working draft, anyway--that's about to go out to newsletter subscribers, beta readers, and my cover artist. Check it out, if you will:

 Tsing was in love. Once. Now a blade, a horse, and a lucrative quest are all he needs. So, after an incredible night of passion with a green-eyed witch, he does what he always does—pays her handsomely and escapes at full gallop.

 Erin is an indentured drudge—longing for freedom to walk her own path. So, the gold received after accidentally drinking a forbidden aphrodisiac is balm to her shame. She’ll put the incident behind her—until she finds her path to becoming a master dream walker is shared by the one who caused her shame.

 Tsing is named the orphan king in a prophecy—Erin, the witch who’ll find his queen. She’ll succeed—keeping her mission a secret, even from him, unless …

 Well, the effects of the aphrodisiac they shared might be permanent.

 Can the two of them find a queen to share his throne, stay a step ahead of the demons who hunt them, and fulfill the prophecy? Or will their snowballing feelings divert them from their quest, freeing a spreading evil to swallow mankind?

 A Verse for Witches is the thrilling first book in the Song of Tsing series. If you like sword and sorcery on an epic scale, with a bit of romance thrown in, this quest is for you.

I passed the 101k word mark this morning on A Verse for Witches. With only a few chapters to go, I'm well ahead of my deadline to get the first draft to my editor. The Old Man and the Bike

I’m the kind of person who can overdo anything and everything, good or bad. I have a long list of addictions to prove it. The acceptance of this about myself has made the last quarter century of my life an almost daily struggle for balance. I’m constantly striving for just the right mix of work, play, intellectual stimulation and down time, that will keep me from tipping the scales too far in any direction. Take writing, for instance. The Real Red Wolves

    The term red wolf must have been floating around in my subconscious when I conceived of Clifford Crane, the supernatural werewolf protagonist depicted in my Red Wolf Saga . Crane (you can check out the “My Books” tab), whom I imagine to be a cross between an Irish setter and an eight foot grizzly, bears little resemblance to the coyote-colored canid that once roamed the eastern North American continent in large numbers a few hundred years ago.     But, yes, there are real red wolves!
